Woah its just day 3 and it already feels like a week. So, for most people ketosis takes about 3 days to kick-in and hence this was a big day. Did we think of cheating? Yes!
But then the wise alter ego came to rescue and reminded us - The only thing you cheat with a cheat meal is your own body.
Pre-keto days, the vegetables we would buy during our weekly grocery shopping would easily last me a week, and a little more. But with the keto meals, I was soon running out of vegetables. Haha, that was a good feeling!
Goal : 2 meals per day (one at 12pm, the next between 6pm-8pm.
While the fried fish and stuffed cabbage was pretty much similar to what we ate on day 2, just that instead of the chicken filling for the cabbage, I switched it up with scrambled eggs.
We have a new vegetable added to our keto plate!! 🎶 Drumrolls 🎶 Let’s welcome the very fancy brinjal a.k.a eggplants a.k.a aubergine!
Trust me these crispies are so bomb, I actually look forward to eating them.
To make them, cut the eggplants into small thin circles. In a bowl, add 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp red chilly powder and 5 spoons coconut oil. Mix well. Now dip each circle in the spice mix and fry well, ofcourse shallow.
Chose a protein heavy meal for our 6th keto-meal. All you can crave for in a keto meal is some yummy chicken and fish, so that’s what we are going with today.
Raw:
-Tomato, Pistachios
Sautéed:
- In a saucepan, added a spoon of pure coconut oil. Tossed the cut capsicum pieces and let it sauté on high flame till it charred at the ends.
Fried:
- In a bowl added salt, red chilly powder, haldi, coriander and cumin powder (I make these at home), chaat masala. Mixed thoroughly. Do not add any water. Add chicken pieces and mix thoroughly. Shallow fry. Add mozzarella cheese on top and let it melt a little.
